As of late, I have been extremely lazy with the upkeep of this blog. Grandoise plans of a redesign, switching over to Moveable Type, setting up archives and photo pages are just not happening at the moment and I blame it on the move. Yes, the move that required me to lift heavy boxes and furniture up and down stairs. 3 flights at my old place and three flights at the new. Luckily, I had some great help from Mary, Monica, Amanda, Alex, my lil bro, dad and Phil. Soon I will have internet access at home and post photos a-go-go. Until then, read this article by Kurt Vonnegut (thanks again Monica!).

My throat is feeling very scratchy and I am sniffling. This does not bode well. Contrary to popular belief I can get sick. I am downing water so fast that I am almost afraid of water intoxication. Hmmm, orange juice would be good too. I’m going to sit quietly at my desk and try not to look at the computer screen. This crap better be gone by Saturday.

-Receiving a cellphone call and hearing “do you HEAR me? I’m outside your window!” from both the cellphone and my living room window (Monica stopped by last night after hitting up the video store next to the Casa). Seriously, that is the best ever.
-The extreme almost day-glo orange walls of the living room, the initial shock and eventual love of how the sunset lit the room up.
-Having a drink on the roof with an amazing view of Manhattan.
-Two Little Red Hens’ muffins.
-The Cock shrine.
Packed like a demon last night AND managed to do some laundry at the sketchy laundry place. I will not miss doing laundry there or at the other laundry place where they turn off the lights 10 minutes before they close while you frantically fold laundry.
You would think that packing things in boxes wouldn’t take so much energy, but it’s really deciding what to pack and what to throw away…and then getting lost in the memories of the things you are packing and then throwing something in the garbage only to take it out 20 minutes later and then finally deciding it would be best to throw it away. Yeah, I have a hard time letting go of stuff. I ended up passed out on my bed and forgot to take out my contacts. It was a very bleary-eyed and cloudy morning, glad it was the contacts and not my eyes. Tomorrow night I tackle the kitchen. At least that should be quick. Right?

My eyelids feel extremely heavy, but I could have sworn I got a lot of sleep last night. I have not been in the blogging mood. In general, I’ve been in a grumpy mood. My computer at home will not let me go on the internet, so I can’t post photos and work has been a complete zoo. Add to that thinking about reupholstering couches, fending off the crazies in the garment district, haggling for fabric, trying to find wooden chairs on Craiglist, attempting to reach my new landlord (achieved this morning!) and just general packing woes and you have my current state: a mess. However, I will take deep breaths. I will go running at the gym in thirty minutes and kick some ass. Goodness.

OK, a while back I got an Ipod for my birthday and I still love it, but this is retarded. FORTY IPODS? ARE YOU MAD?! Had to get that out of my system. Link via gothamist.

I had pictures all ready to put up and my home computer is acting up…so that means no pictures. Not sure what is going on with that computer, as it is fairly new, but it is freezing like crazy. Must get tech-smart lil’ bro to fix it up.
