Ch-ch-changes
Tomorrow, cooking.syphen.org version 2.0 will debut. Rock.
According to Salon the CBS memo debacle is over due to the thorough reporting of Jon Stewart and Co. If you can watch videos at work (luck bastards), go here and see it for yourself. Hilarious (I say that even though I have not seen it because the Daily Show has always been hilarious, but maybe I’m wrong…let me know).
Someone has been working on revamping his site a bit. Go check out some new things at Lame Punk Slogan.
Tina has not been lost. She just has no motivation to blog. This will all change with…a new site design! Yes, I promise it will happen and this time my little brother (who just turned 21, happy birthday) will be designing it. Since he is all computer-geeked out and super smart in these matters, I decided to let him give it a shot and some of the designs he has been giving me kick some major ass. So look for that goodness soon.
Check out Phil’s site for mad party pictures. No thigh-licking there.
Also, I think I am going to try and do the iPod scheme. Why the hell not? So help me out and use my referrer link. PLEASE. I recommend the infone service. Free, no fees, etc. Use a spam email though.
As promised, here are some Montreal pictures. They are pretty big. I will resize them later, sorry folks!

While reading this article in the Times, I came across this tidbit:
“In New York, the Republicans sought to identify Mr. Bush’s re-election with the tragedy that has defined his presidency, without appearing to exploit a day on which almost 3,000 Americans died.”
Excuse me NYT’s, but where the fuck were you during the convention? Without appearing to exploit a day? That’s all the Republicans were doing! Don’t forget Giuliani’sspeech at the RNC in which he claimed that he thanked God that Bush was the president when the attacks ocurred.
I don’t know why I am so angry about this since media coverage on the whole election debacle has been crap, but I am. New York was whored out during this convention week and I don’t appreciate what is basically the local paper around here claiming that we weren’t exploited. Grrrr.
Montreal was absolutely lovely. Beautiful weather, nice French/English speaking people, yummy food, reasonably priced, fun, grand, etc. Back in New York and it’s raining. Slightly a drag. In fact, I believe Manhattan is facing some flood warnings. The subway was too crowded and very slow due to all of the water on the tracks. If Bush gets re-elected, I am moving to Montreal.
Oh yeah, this is for Amanda who believed this summer was beautiful. I argued that it rained all the time. See article.
I’m heading to Montreal and will be back with pictures and maple syrup.

Went to Madison Square Park last night to see what was up with the A31 day of action thingee. Protest? March. I think “thingee” is a better word for it. The people who were organizing some of the A31 action spent some time in the park describing what they were about, that people would probably get arrested and alternative parties/marches to join up since this group was NOT GOING TO MARCH. Met up with Monica, Phil, Heather and Greg and then we walked around in some confusion. At least I didn’t know what was going on and it seemed that many people thought the same thing. We ended up getting in a two-by-two line of people who were marching from Ground Zero. A shopkeeper asked the group in front of his store what we were marching for/against. No one answered. Finally, Heather said against the RNC. Right on, he said, you win the million dollars. Apparently, there was no coherent message that night. I passed a couple of kids who started screaming obscenities at this old man with a van proclaiming various anti-ay/pro-choice propaganda (picture later). The man was using his first amendment right to proclaim his beliefs (which I don’t agree with), but these kids thought it would be a good idea to yell curse words at him—smart. Saw a die-in at 28th street and people getting arrested at Herald Square and got a free cupcake from the Cupcake Cafe because I was a “protestor.” Somehow, I didn’t feel like I deserved that cupcake. Maybe it was because I didn’t want to get arrested, but the evening felt hollow to me.
Finished up my Summer Mix-O CD though. That’s good.
